Hi folks,
just wanted to tell ya all about what I have done to fix my petcock problem.
I had the same problem like some folks in this forum with this petcock. The
bike starved and could only be run in the prime position. Which actually is no
problem, except that you don't have a reserve. Which made me walk for 5 kilometers
to get some gasoline a few days ago.
So I went through all the petcock threads in the forum and looked at the solutions.
First I took off that vacuum hose. Looked o.k. to me, so I drained the tank and took
off the petcock. When I removed the back plate which holds that diaphram I noticed
that those 4 screws were pretty loose, I didn't have to use any force whatsoever.
So I thought that this could have been the solution already. But everything back on,
gasoline in the tank and went for a testride. Little Suzi ran as good as ever, that
petcock stayed in the center position like its supposed to be and I was happy.
Thought that I have to tell you about this. Look at those 4 screws before you go into
buying a new petcock or renewing half the bike like Bob-CH did.
Safe riding,
Alfred
